Councillor update 10 February 2014

Hello everyone, well we feel as if we started the big push today with the first of our deliveries going out to our deliverers, a HUGE THANK YOU to all our deliverers, all deliveries will be out by tomorrow so you will have them hopefully lunchtime tomorrow latest for Wed eve latest delivery please as first of our Planning Exhibition days starts on Thurs 13th Creekmoor Library at 10am. Special thanks to Jonny and his ACME delivery skills this lunchtime and to Les for bagging and tagging.

Special thanks to Carol Snelling re her petition to Council for 25th Feb  with 150 signatures so the petition will be fully debated, we must submit the petition tommr to be in time for the Council meeting of 25th Feb and also a big thank you to Shaun for his huge petition of businesses etc for the Planning meeting in March, this is all grist to the mill and shows our dedication to doing all we possibly can to highlight the position and prove that the application should be refused.

The meeting with the Managing Agents, and leading businesses from the Marshes End business Park went very well today, they have instructed a leading Barrister from Landmark Chambers London ergo;

‘they are the UK’s leading set in planning law. Widely known as the “planning super-set”, Landmark ”undoubtedly sets the standard at the Planning Bar... it has barristers unanimously hailed by sources as beacons of excellence”. meeting with them and a team of experts from Cameron McKenna’

The Managing Company mean business and it doesn’t get much more powerful or business like than this!! So we may just be in with a chance. Explaining that Mr Jones Gypsy Council UK rep was to make written and verbal objection to the application was well rec’d and they will put this to the Barrister on Wednesday, the Communities Web portal clearly states that Gypsies and Travellers must want to go to the site and it must be fit for purpose, I expect they will also apply the reasonable man test, ergo;

‘A potential defendant will be negligent by falling below the standards of the ordinary reasonable person in his/her situation, ie by doing something which the reasonable man would not do or failing to do something which the reasonable man would do’

They asked to be advised regarding various areas of our Borough of Poole Constitutional Law and many issues that you had raised with us were discussed, many being first points of inference to put to the Legal team when they arrive on Wednesday.
Thanks to Terry who had provided the Communities doc, the Friends Families and Travellers ‘ bible’ and his planning objections, this gave a good overview of many points made by many folk and proved to be very informative and supportive for the coming legal team. Knowing the local area is a must and they gained a good insight today during the discussion.

We will be meeting again after Wednesday and they will keep us posted re any potential issues of challenge, scoping mainly around
1.    Site selection 2. failure of due process and other technical matters, so more to come later, so good news today!

There was Echo coverage today re the removal of vegetation prior to planning perm and the quote given from me was actually said in conversation with a third part in a private e-mail, although the quote was fine, I have asked that the Echo do not quote anyone unless they have actually spoken to them Terry gave a stonking overview of what residents felt about what had happened, leaving no one in any doubt in the inequity of what is being done to good Creekmoor folk.

Creekmoor Link have contacted us to do an in-depth article for March with our residents comments etc as some of our residents had contacted them, we think is a great idea and we will be working with Jane to get some sound copy, and facts to her for the March edition. Your views are very important to us and we feel they must be stated publicly.

Goodnight to you all, another day tomorrow, we fight on!!!

Best always Judes John and Les
