Welcome
to any new addressees who are receiving our round robin for the first time, we
are adding more every day, you can send anyone’s e-mail address to us and we
will add immediately to the database
Firstly
apologies the incorrect planning application number was sent out to you
all it is APP/14/00123/F Land at
Safety Drive Poole Dorset, NOT APR/14/00123/F
Land at Safety Drive Poole Dorset, must have been thinking of the closure of
the tax year!!!! (Editor's note ... this error was fixed before posting the original mail on the Blog)
Latest
updates, we have arranged a small exhibition at Creekmoor Library for you, the
following e-mail message is from officers in Environmental Consumer Protection
Services who have kindly organised this for us, so some more dates for your
busy diaries!
“We’ve
confirmed with Creekmoor library that we’ll be able to have a small display on
13 and 14 February between 10am and 4.30pm and on 15 February from 10am to 1pm.
We’ll aim to have a member of staff available for some of that time,
probably Thursday AM, Friday PM, and Saturday AM, to answer any questions
(albeit there will be Q&A sheets on the display).
I’d
be very grateful if you could advise any residents you talk to that the staff
are not there to either support or oppose the application. They
will be neutral, and are there to clarify information about the application”
John,
Les and I will cover the three days between us so we hope to have a Cllr there
at any given time to support you and discuss the issues.
We
have now been invited to meet the Planning Consultants Terrence O’Rourke who
are representing the Managing Agents of the Marshes End Business Park and the
Alpha Centre Business Park. They have taken instruction from their
clients and will share with us any particular areas of planning weakness that
we can object to.
The
Client himself is also keen to speak to all three of us as well so we shall
keep you posted re outcome of this meetings.
We
are meeting with two representatives of the UK Gypsy Council on Friday to
listen to what they have to say and to see if they would want to use to the
site themselves. This will be quite a sensitive meeting for all concerned but
so many of you told us that it was unfair that they had not been asked if they
would want to use the site by the Council, so we wrote to ask them to meet with
us and they have agreed, so we are very pleased to have this opportunity, we
will report back when we have met with them
The
leaflet delivery list is now taking shape, most roads are
covered, we have some overlaps and we have some gaps and some kind folk who
have offered themselves as ‘floaters’ to deliver unallocated roads, so if you
fancy a lovely walk to get a breath of fresh please let us know, we hope to
have a delivery ready to go by the end of the week.
We
have also had 2/3 folk come forward to complete a petition in their road,
Caroline Snelling is leading this for us and has a pro-forma sheet for
completion, if you can help can you contact Caroline directly at caroline.snelling@ntlworld.com
and cc to us so we can keep a copy of how many roads are being covered, this is
for Feb 25th full Council meeting at the Civic Centre 7pm, a
good turn out is needed, the petitioner can speak for up to 2 minutes, and yr
Cllrs can speak in support of the petition for 3 minutes each, if the Mayor
lets us speak for the full three minutes of course!!!
It
will be debated on the night and go to the vote on the night too. We must have
more than 100 signatures but less than 750, 750 or more and it is deferred to
the next Council meeting so we would want to debate it before the planning
application is heard to again to raise awareness publically. We will help with
the wording of the 2 minute address to Council, we will ask Caroline if she
would like to do the address as she has worked so hard to get things
started, so all aspects are covered and we ask for specific things that have
been mentioned by folk over the last week or so.
Shaun
Connolly is gathering more and more business name petitions for the planning
application objections and delivering a letter of explanation to every business
, Shaun tells us that it is very well rec’d and we hope for some businesses to
attend our meeting of the 1st March, he too is doing a fab job.
We
have had a few avenues closed to us on investigating various planning
considerations, but as one closes two seem to open so we remain positive,
thanks to all our stalwart researchers out there, keep digging!!!
We
have invited the Echo to attend the meeting on the 1st March and they contacted
us today to find out time, venue etc, so we are hopeful they will attend . We
also gave a quote to them saying that residents would be attending the planning
meeting to object and that there was concern that there was only 4 minutes
allowed for all objectors to speak.
We
have asked that there be several slots for people to speak but we have not
heard back yet, we will raise it again tomorrow.
Just
to remind you Martyn Underhill the Dorset Police Crime Commissioner will be
there too. He supports TSP’s in principle because they allow the Police to
carry out their duties under Section 62a of the Police and Criminal Justice Act,
but he is totally non bias about our particular site, the matters
that sit with the site have to be dealt with at the planning committee.
A
Snr Police officer will also be in attendance to advise us what measures can be
taken to provide required policing if the site is occupied and our Poole
MP Robert Syms will be with us to explain the discussions he has had/ is
undertaking with the Minister and Cllrs to get the law changes so a decent pan
Dorset Transit site/s can be ascertained in Dorset.
Lastly
if you have rec’d an e-mail form Phillip Eades Mayor of Poole, please do not
take any notice of him, we have answered quite a few folk today who have asked
what his e-mail was trying to say, briefly he is trying to kid everyone that he
has had nothing to do with the idea of having a TSP and it was all decided at a
private residents meeting last October, which is nonsense, he is kidding
no-one, we are all perfectly aware that he has lobbied everyone to get this
voted through at Council and put a personal motion to Council himself last
October asking for a site for travellers!
We
have asked the Chief Executive and the Head of Legal Services to ask him not to
write to you in again in those terms.
On
saying good night to you all we have yet to hear when the planning meeting will
be held, we rec’d this e-mail this morning form the lead planning officer on
the application;
“I
have just checked with Democratic Services who advise that they are currently
considering a number of options, whether to hold at the Council Offices or off
site, what day, what time etc ?
Whilst
these options remain to be concluded we are hopefully looking to hold the
meting either on the morning of the 20th March, if a room/venue can
be sourced, or at an alternative date if possible.
I
will continue to liaise with Democratic Service and update once arrangements
can be finalised which I hope should be soon”.
We
are not happy with these suggestions have immediately stated that a
morning would not be preferable as folk will be at work and cannot
afford to take time off, this meeting is of such importance to Creekmoor and
the rest of the Borough, that the meeting should be held in the evening when
most folk can get there, preferably at an outside venue that is big enough to
accommodate everyone who would like to attend, this could be several hundred,
we also would prefer free parking and easy disabled access is a must, we will
keep onto this for you!
So
goodnight everyone
Chin
up we will fight on together!
Best
always
Judes
John and Les
